It's 1948 and World War II is over, but the world is not at peace. In San Francisco, Barbara Lavette, author and foreign correspondent, is trying to make a new life with her young son and husband Bernie Cohen, the solider she met in France during the war. Her family is just settling in when Bernie receives an urgent and mysterious phone call that takes him away on a secret mission and leads Barbara to Congressional confrontations, jail, and eventually to unforgettable tragedy.
This antique paperback book is in good condition. The reason being is because the back cover is making the last bottom part of the page come apart from the spine but still be attached to the cover, pages 364 and 365 are separated a bit from one another but are still connected to the spine, and the front page is separated from the spine but is still attached to the front cover of the book.
